If you read the amazing :iconbooker:'s comic Skin Deep [link] then you've already seen the filler I did for her. If not, THEN GO READ IT and here it is! [link]

It's a little sloppy AND SOMEBODY MADE ME ALL SORTS OF ANGRY BY COMPARING IT TO HARRY POTTER (WTFRAGEFLAIL), but I still like it. Nitpick at all the flaws and I will bludgeon you with an axehead.

The hardest part was composition. I had to erase the entire thing to move her over to the left TWO BLEEDING INCHES because the composition was off. The detail and the mosaic pattern was the easiest thing (just scribbled angles really :D) and the fishscale pattern in the bg was sooooooo easy to do. I was a bit concerned with how much her hair blended into the yellow of the background BUT AT THIS POINT I COULDN'T CARE LESS IF I TRIED. Kinda wish I'd added another half inch of mosaic patterning on the bottom of the painting. Would have balanced the comp a lot more.

I really like this! I don't think the hair blends into the yellow background that much at all. The mosaic looks really neat. So does the water. And pretty much everything. :heart:

I really do enjoy the water and the detail you put into the mosaic. Drawing all those little lines would drive me bonkers.

Seriously? Drawing in a mosaic style is really easy, I just scribbled on autopilot while watching tv:D Though if I'd made a mosaic out of cut paper or clay tiles I'd probably have shot myself.

Dude, did you totally draw blonde eyelashes on her? I think that's what I'm seeing and it's an AWESOME DETAIL.

I really love your lines, they always sorta remind me of like... dry, fallen leaves. They're angular but organic at the same time and they just look so natural and effortless. Mostly I am noticing this on her tail in particoolar. I love her tail and wet, stringy hair.

ALSO I WAS EXCITED THAT YOU DID SKIN DEEP FAN ART, AND THAT IT WAS OF MY FAVORITE CHARACTER. Ahahaha. This is really a lovely paintin'.

P.S. I LOVE the varied/more earthy LESS BLUE colors of the water. They remind me of mussel and oyster shells. (Jenny's commenting formula apparently: COMPARE STUFF TO STUFF.)

This is seriously great. Not only did you perfectly capture her personality and her 'slightly-creepy-but-also-pretty-adorable'-ness, but also man look at all those details. Love it! Thank you so much, man! So great!
